Who We Are

Avalon Vet Services is a mobile veterinary practice dedicated to compassionate end-of-life care for dogs and cats. Rather than asking families to bring a sick or fragile pet into a busy clinic, Dr. Margaux Buchanan comes to you, providing gentle in-home pet euthanasia, quality-of-life guidance, and complete pet cremation and aftercare. Our goal is simple: to make one of life’s hardest moments as peaceful, private, and loving as possible.

Meet Dr. Margaux Buchanan

Dr. Buchanan is a highly trained veterinarian and lifelong animal lover who treats every patient as if they were her own. She is trained in best-practice euthanasia techniques and takes the time to explain every step, answer every question, and let families say goodbye in their own way. Learn more about her approach on our About Our Practice page.

Our Philosophy of Care

We believe every pet deserves a gentle goodbye in the place they feel safest. Each visit begins with a relaxing sedative so your pet drifts into a deep, restful sleep, free of fear and pain. There is no rush, no waiting room, and no cold exam table. Your pet can rest in their favorite spot, enjoy treats, and be surrounded by family. We also help families recognize the signs of declining comfort in pets living with conditions such as cancer, kidney disease, and severe arthritis. Explore all end-of-life conditions.

Support Beyond the Visit

Losing a pet is losing a member of the family. Our pet loss grief resources connect you with support groups, hotlines, and books, and you can honor your companion on our pet memorials page. We also offer an online pharmacy for convenient delivery of pet medications and supplies.

Where We Serve

We proudly serve families in Bradenton, Sarasota, Lakewood Ranch, Parrish, Palmetto, and throughout Manatee, Sarasota & Southwest Florida, including parts of Hillsborough, Polk, Hardee, DeSoto, Charlotte & Lee Counties. Learn why families choose us or visit our frequently asked questions.
