The kind and gentle Dr. Buchanan assisted sweet Kai with her peaceful passing over the Rainbow Bridge while at home surrounded by love from her family. Her mom Katelyn had the following beautiful words to share about her girl.
Kai crossed the rainbow bridge today, leaving behind a love that will never fade. She was the sweetest cuddle buddy, always bringing comfort with her gentle spirit and that beautiful, loving heart. Her warm snuggles and bright, happy smile made every day better, and her absence will be deeply felt. Her mamas and her sister are going to miss that sweet smile more than words can say, and though their hearts are broken, they find comfort in knowing this isn’t goodbye forever—they can’t wait to see their little girl again. Now she can run freely in the prettiest of places surrounded by peace, love, and endless sunshine. We love you sweet Kai Kai.

Nicole Rutherford – FRANK
The empathetic and kind Dr. Buchanan assisted sweet Frank with his gentle passing over the Rainbow Bridge while comforted at home by love from his family. His mom Nicole had the sweetest things to share about her boy and experience.
Dr. Buchanan was amazing and as difficult as this was. We are so glad that we chose Sugars Gift.
Frank was such a lover. He loved fetching the tennis ball (and never giving it back , swimming in the pool, and going for walks and running with mommy.
One of his favorite things though was going for car rides with his brothers and sisters and sticking his head out the window.
He especially loved when grandma and grandpa would come visit him. He loved snuggling up to all of us and giving us kisses. We miss him so much already. ”

Francine Lafond – JACK
The patient and caring Dr Buchanan assisted sweet Jack with his peaceful passing over the Rainbow Bridge while with his loving family in the comfort of his home. His mom Francine had the following heartfelt words to share about her baby.
I will never find the perfect words to express our family’s gratitude to your organization and all you did to help us through one of the most difficult times of our lives. On May 19th we had to say goodbye to a very dear part of our family…Jack our 10 year old Brussels Griffon was unexpectedly diagnosed with terminal lung cancer.
Our sweet boy had seen all of us through some of the worst of times, including the loss of our son. I’m not sure how any of us would have come away from that without his steady love and support. A stubborn little guy by nature, Jack never ceased to make us laugh- as small as he was, he believed he was the BOSS! Because he was a brachiocephalic breed, he always had some breathing issues which were compounded by allergies. When we took him to the vet that day, we never expected to get such ominous news. It was as though once we were informed, he felt he could finally show how sick he was. Within days he could no longer lay down comfortably and we knew we could not let him suffer this way.
The staff at Sugar’s Gift comforted us and showed us such empathy. Soon we were visited by Dr. Buchanan who was like an angel on earth. Jack, who is usually not happy about strangers coming into the house, did not bark once. He shockingly greeted her happily at the door! Dr. Buchanan allowed us to say when we were comfortable enough to let him be at peace. It was an amazingly comforting experience instead of the cold impersonal experiences we have had in the past saying goodbye to our pets. I will never be able to thank you enough for that kindness.
The Sugar’s Gift family is honored to be able to be there in these heartbreaking times when these sweet angels and their loving owners need us most.

Roseann and Scott Becker – GUNNAR
The empathetic and understanding Dr Buchanan assisted sweet Gunnar with his peaceful passing over the Rainbow Bridge while surrounded by love by his family. His loving owners Scott and Roseann shared the following beautiful words and photos with us of their handsome boy.
Gunner is a true Doberman—sweet, “Velcro,” and very protective. He is my best boy and deeply loves his dad, as well as his companions Harley, Nuncio, and Ginger.
Some of his favorite things include long runs in open spaces, new stuffed toys, and digging in water puddles. He has always been a wonderful traveler who loves car rides, especially when we go to visit family in Lake Mary. I am going to miss him forever.
We hold all of the sweet angels that we assist in our hearts forever at Sugar’s Gift and we are forever grateful for their families that reach out and bless our hearts.

Britnie Mayhew – HENRY
The caring and compassionate Dr. Buchanan assisted sweet Henry with his peaceful passing over the Rainbow Bridge while with his loving family in the comfort of his home. His mom, Britnie had the following beautiful words to share about her baby.
 Henry is the undisputed king and self-appointed security guard of the house. He takes his patrol duties very seriously and always needs to know exactly what everyone is doing at all times. If there’s a strange noise, a crying baby, or any kind of chaos, Henry is immediately on the scene to investigate and supervise.
He has the personality of a grumpy old man mixed with a tiny lion. He’s protective, dramatic, opinionated, and somehow still incredibly lovable. He likes affection on his terms, believes personal space is optional, and runs the house like he pays the bills.
One of Henry’s most legendary traits is his passionate love affair with blankets. Not only does he “love” them, but he proudly drags them through the house afterward like trophies from a successful hunt. Nothing says ‘alpha male’ quite like hauling a blanket twice your size down the hallway at 2 a.m.
He’s been such a huge personality in our home for years, and there will truly never be another cat like Henry.
